The future of our environment is in safe hands if the Green & Healthy Schools program is anything to go by.

Register in the Green & Healthy Schools program in 2008 for your chance to win an Elite Panaboard Interactive Whiteboard and data projector.
Interactive whiteboards are an exciting digital technology that can make lessons more dynamic and engaging for educators and students at all stages of learning.
An interactive whiteboard, connected to a computer and a projector, becomes an extension of a computer desktop. Teachers and students can interact with information on the board in real time, enabling teachers and students to write or draw onto the screen displayed on the board. For your chance to win this fantastic prize, return your registration form before Friday 14th March 2008.

| 2008: The Year of Physical Activity for Queensland Schools | |
Physical activity is an important part of a healthy life. It helps us to think better, feel good and have fun. This year we will be recognising a school with the Let’s get Physical Award for the ‘smartest movers’ in Queensland. Our judges will be looking at how you incorporate physical activity into the Outstanding Achievement Award categories – we are looking for your most innovative and inventive ideas!
|
The Green & Healthy Schools is open to all Queensland schools. Whilst the program encourages new activities, it recognises that many schools are already undertaking activities that are directly relevant to the goals of the Green & Healthy Schools program. The program rewards activities that tackle issues such as environmental protection, litter prevention, resource management, waterwise initiatives, youth initiatives, health, nutrition and fitness, and community partnerships and action.
The program gives students, teachers, parents and friends the chance to take part in a range of initiatives that develop the educational, personal and social benefits that come from caring for self, the community and the environment.
Green & Healthy Schools operates throughout the school year and features a competition that culminates in Regional Awards and the State Awards at Parliament House in October.
|
Registrations are now being called and we invite you to register for the program. Please note if you were registered last year, your registration will be rolled over to the 2008 program. We do however ask ALL schools to complete the registration form to ensure we have your current contact details.
Registration is free and open to all Queensland schools.

The program also features a competition element to recognise and reward schools for their Green & Healthy endeavours.
To take out the title of Queensland’s Greenest & Healthiest School, a school must be motivated, have a strong sense of community and best exemplify all aspects of the Green & Healthy Schools competition.
Keep Australia Beautiful Queensland assessors take into account every school's geographic, environmental, cultural and economic circumstances, and assess how efficiently and effectively the school community uses the resources available to it against a range of criteria, including environmental protection, litter prevention, resource management, youth initiatives, health, nutrition and fitness, and community partnerships and action.
Green & Healthy Schools encourages schools to work at their own pace to achieve outcomes relevant to their school and their school community.
