Today, the RACQ is Queensland's peak motoring body, providing expert advice, information and assistance relating to a wide range of motoring matters.

The RACQ sponsors the Litter Prevention Award in the Ergon Energy Tidy Towns competition. The RACQ Litter Prevention Award recognises outstanding accomplishment is litter prevention, management and education.

The RACQ has a long history. In 1905, 12 motorists formed the Automobile Club of Queensland (ACQ). From these humble beginnings the ACQ received its Royal Charter in 1921 and become the Royal Automobile Club of Queensland (RACQ).
